Deponti Trebbiano: The Modern Flat Roof Veranda
Redefine your outdoor living space with the Deponti Trebbiano, a state-of-the-art glass veranda that combines sleek, architectural lines with practical all-weather protection. Unlike traditional pitched-roof systems, the Trebbiano features a sophisticated flat roof design, making it the ultimate choice for modern homes or properties where installation height is restricted.
Constructed from high-grade aluminium and reinforced safety glass, the Trebbiano is engineered for performance. Its robust structure allows for an impressive clear span of nearly 7 metres between just two support posts, ensuring your view of the garden remains wide, open, and uninterrupted.
Perfect for Low Eaves & Single Storey Homes
The defining advantage of the Trebbiano is its flat profile. Traditional verandas require significant wall height to accommodate a sloping roof, which can be a problem for bungalows or single-storey extensions. The Trebbiano solves this challenge:
- Height Efficient: Maintains a consistent, low profile without needing steep pitch angles, fitting neatly under low eaves or first-floor windows.
- Geometric Design: The crisp, square aesthetic perfectly complements contemporary architecture and cubic house designs.
- Easy Enclosure: The level roofline makes adding glass sliding doors or side panels significantly easier and more aesthetically pleasing, creating a seamless "Garden Room" effect.
Integrated LED Lighting System
Extend your enjoyment of the outdoors long after the sun goes down with the Trebbiano's premium lighting package. Included as standard, a sophisticated LED strip is seamlessly integrated into the rear face of the front gutter profile. This clever positioning casts a warm, ambient wash of light back across the veranda, illuminating your space without creating harsh glare.
- Smart Control: The system comes complete with a high-quality Somfy receiver and handset, giving you effortless remote control over your lighting.
- Home Automation Ready: For tech-savvy homeowners, the Somfy system allows for easy integration with Somfy Smart Home apps (Tahoms Switch required), letting you control your veranda lights directly from your smartphone.
Uncompromised Natural Light
While louvered roof systems block out the sun when closed for rain protection, the Trebbiano’s glass roof offers the best of both worlds. You get 100% waterproof shelter from British showers without sacrificing a single lumen of natural daylight. It keeps your adjoining indoor rooms bright and airy, even in the depths of winter.
System Overview: The Deponti Trebbiano is a premium flat-roof glass veranda system featuring integrated LED lighting and a heavy-duty span capability. It is designed for modern properties where clean lines and minimal vertical height are required.

2. Height & Levelling Rules
The Trebbiano is designed to look flat from the outside, but the glass inside has a hidden slope of at least 28mm per metre to ensure drainage. The system manages this within the main beams.
- Maximum Height: The maximum standard height from ground level to the top of the gutter is 2800mm.
- Wall Plate Position: The top of the wall profile sits 20mm higher than the top of the front gutter to assist flow.
Example: If your front gutter top is at 2500mm, your wall profile top must be at 2520mm.
- Post Lengths: Posts are supplied over-length (typically 2800mm+) to allow for concreting into the ground. If bolting to a finished patio, they must be cut to the exact required height (Ground to Bottom of Gutter).
3. Ground Fixing Options
Due to the large spans (up to 7m on two posts), the foundation load is significant. Secure fixing is non-negotiable.
Option A: Concrete Foundation (Recommended)
For the strongest install, dig a foundation hole (min 500mm deep), place the post inside, level it perfectly, and backfill with concrete. This provides maximum lateral stability.
Option B: Blind Mounting Base (Surface Fix)
If installing onto an existing reinforced concrete slab, you can use the Blind Mounting Base kit.
- Anchor Method: We recommend using M12 chemical anchors (e.g., Hilti HY-200) with a bonding depth of 170mm for maximum safety.
- Note: Do not bolt standard plates onto paving slabs alone; they will lift under wind load.
4. Rainwater Drainage
The drainage is hidden inside the posts for a clean look.
- Outlet Position: You must drill a 60mm hole in the post to align with your chosen drainage exit point (either below ground to a soakaway or just above ground).
- Leaf Catcher: An integrated leaf catcher is fitted inside the gutter outlet to prevent blockages in the post.
- Gradient: Ensure the internal glass slope is maintained during assembly so water runs to the front gutter naturally.
5. Electrical Connection (LEDs)
The Trebbiano includes integrated LED lighting. During installation:
- Cable Routing: You will need to drill a 10mm hole in the back of the side beam to route the power cable invisibly from the wall to the front gutter.
- Driver Location: The LED driver (transformer) is compact enough to be hidden inside the wall profile or behind the rafter cover for a neat finish.
The Deponti Trebbiano is a precision-engineered system. To ensure your investment is protected and continues to look its best, please review the warranty terms and simple maintenance guidelines below.
Manufacturer's Warranty
Your Trebbiano Veranda is covered by a comprehensive Deponti warranty against manufacturing defects:
- Aluminium Structure: 5-Year Warranty on the structural integrity of the profiles.
- Powder Coating: 5-Year Warranty on the finish against peeling or blistering.
*Note: For coastal areas (within 1km of the sea) or locations with high chemical exposure (e.g., swimming pools), the finish warranty is 2 Years.
- Electrical Components: 2-Year Warranty on the LED lighting strips, drivers, and Somfy receiver/handsets.
- Glass: The 8.8mm laminated glass is a durable safety product; however, breakage due to impact or thermal shock is not covered by warranty.
Warranty Conditions
To keep your warranty valid:
- Correct Assembly: The veranda must be installed strictly according to the official Deponti Trebbiano Assembly Manual.
- No Unauthorised Mods: Structural modifications (drilling or cutting beams beyond the manual's instructions) will void the warranty.
- Original Parts: Use only the supplied stainless steel fixings and original electrical components.
Maintenance Guide
Regular maintenance ensures the smooth operation of the drainage system and keeps the powder coating fresh:
- Cleaning (2x Per Year): Wash the aluminium frame with lukewarm water and a neutral cleaning agent (pH 6-8) using a soft sponge.
Warning: Never use high-pressure washers, scouring pads, or acidic/alkaline cleaners, as these will damage the paintwork and rubber seals.
- Drainage Check: The Trebbiano has hidden internal drainage. Twice a year (especially Autumn), remove the leaf catcher from the gutter outlet and clear any debris to prevent water backing up inside the posts.
- Glass Care: Clean the glass roof panels regularly with standard glass cleaner to maintain light transmission. Avoid walking on the glass during cleaning.
Measuring for the Trebbiano is straightforward, but because of its unique flat-roof design, checking your heights is critical. Follow this guide to ensure a perfect fit for your home.
1. Measuring the Width (Along the Wall)
The Trebbiano comes in fixed modular widths based on standard glass panel sizes. You cannot simply "cut down" the width like other models without needing new custom glass.
- Select Your Size: Choose the width that fits best within your available wall space: 3914mm, 4878mm, 5842mm, or 6806mm.
- Clearance: Ensure the wall area is free of obstructions like soil pipes, flues, or gas outlets.
- Side Overhang: Unlike pitched verandas, the Trebbiano width is the total external frame width. There are no side overhangs to worry about.
2. Measuring the Projection (Depth)
The projection is the total depth from the wall to the front face of the gutter.
- Available Depths: 2982mm, 3482mm, 3982mm, 4482mm.
- Post Position: The front support posts sit flush with the front of the gutter, not set back. Ensure your patio or foundation extends to the full projection depth to support the posts securely.
3. Checking Heights (Critical for Flat Roofs)
The Trebbiano is designed to look flat, but has a subtle internal engineering difference between the front and back to allow for drainage.
The "20mm Rule":
The top of the Wall Profile will always sit 20mm higher than the top of the Front Gutter.
- Step 1: Determine your Gutter Height
Decide how high you want the front of the veranda to be. The maximum standard height is 2800mm (Ground to Top of Gutter). You can cut the posts shorter on-site if you prefer a lower profile (e.g., 2500mm).
- Step 2: Calculate Wall Height
Add 20mm to your chosen gutter height. This is where the top of your wall plate will sit against the house.
Example: If Front Gutter Height = 2500mm, then Wall Plate Height = 2520mm.
- Step 3: Check for Obstructions
Measure 2520mm (or your calculated height) up your wall. Does this fit under your soffits, gutters, or first-floor window sills?
4. Final Checklist
- Door Clearance: Open any bi-fold or French doors. Measure the top of the door leaf. Ensure your chosen veranda height allows the doors to open outwards without hitting the underside of the roof beams.
- Floor Level: Is your patio level? If the ground slopes away from the house, you may need longer posts or to build up your foundations to keep the roof perfectly level.
- Electrical Supply: Do you have a power source nearby? Remember you will need to feed a cable into the side beam for the integrated LED lighting.

H: Height from ground to top of beam
H1: Height from ground to bottom of wall profile
H2: Height from ground to underside of beam
H3: Height from ground to underside of gutter
B: Length of wall profile
D: Distance from rear of wall profile (wall) to front of posts
