Deponti Giallo Glass Veranda System

Experience the ultimate in outdoor luxury with the Deponti Giallo Glass Veranda. Designed for those who refuse to compromise on aesthetics, this system uses crystal-clear 44.2 laminated safety glass to offer uninterrupted views of the sky and a true "open-air" feeling, rain or shine.

The Giallo's defining feature is its reinforced strength. The sleek, flat-faced gutter profile conceals a heavy-duty steel reinforcement strip, giving it the immense load-bearing capacity required to support a solid glass roof safely. This robust engineering is paired with a clean, modern design that suits contemporary homes and commercial spaces alike.

Glass Supply Options

We offer flexible purchasing options to suit your project needs:

  • Framework Only (Source Your Own Glass): We supply the complete aluminium kit (profiles, seals, hardware) and provide you with the exact glass dimensions required. You then source the 8.8mm (44.2) laminated safety glass from a local glazier. This is often the most cost-effective method as it avoids specialist long-distance transport costs.
  • Complete "Glass Pack": We can supply the full system including the glass panels delivered directly to you. These Glass Packs will be available to purchase online shortly. In the meantime, please email or call us for a current price including specialist delivery.

Customisation & Aesthetics

  • 4 Standard Colours: Traffic White (RAL 9016), Cream White (RAL 9001), Graphite Grey (RAL 7024), and Jet Black (RAL 9005).
  • Integrated Drainage: Rainwater is channelled invisibly through the gutter and down inside the support posts, maintaining the system's clean lines.

Engineering & Post Spans

Due to the significant weight of a glass roof, the Giallo Glass edition has specific structural requirements:

  • Up to 4m Wide: Requires only 2 Front Posts.
  • Over 4m Wide: Requires 3 Front Posts (up to the maximum single width of 7m).

Despite the extra weight, the system still offers generous spans between posts (up to 4 metres), keeping your view as open as possible.

Whether you are creating a chic dining area for your restaurant or a stunning patio cover for your home, the Giallo Glass Veranda offers a permanent, premium upgrade that adds real value to your property.

System Overview: The Deponti Giallo Glass is a heavy-duty aluminium system specifically engineered to carry the significant weight of a glass roof. It features a reinforced steel core within the gutter profile for maximum span capability.

Glass Supply & Specification

You have two options for the glass roofing:

  • Option 1 (Frame Only): We supply the complete framework kit (profiles, seals, hardware). You source the glass locally to save on transport costs. We will provide the exact glass manufacturing sizes upon order.
  • Option 2 (Glass Pack): We supply the framework AND the glass panels together. (Please contact us for a price/availability on this option).
  • Glass Type Required: 8.8mm (44.2) Laminated Safety Glass.

Key Dimensions & Profiles

  • Back Wall Plate: 149mm height (Total height 185mm including the rounded profile cover cap).
  • Front Gutter Profile: 166mm tall with a modern, leaning flat face profile.
  • Support Posts: 115mm x 150mm Rectangular Profile (Extra heavy-duty). Supplied at 3000mm length for concreting in or cutting to size on site.

Ordering Widths Explained

The system uses specific beam spacing measurements, resulting in an "Overall Width" slightly larger than the nominal size.

  • Overall Width Calculation: The total width is the beam spacing + 60mm (30mm overhang from centre-line to outside edge on both sides).
  • Example: A "5-metre" model has a nominal width of 5000mm + 60mm = 5060mm Overall Width.

Standard Finishes

  • Standard Colours: Traffic White (RAL 9016), Cream White (RAL 9001), Graphite Grey (RAL 7024), Jet Black (RAL 9005).

Post Requirements Matrix

Due to the substantial weight of the glass roof, the Giallo Glass edition has stricter post requirements than the polycarbonate version. Please consult the table below.

Ordering Width (Overall) Projection Depth Number of Posts Required
4m (4060mm) All Projections (2500mm - 4000mm) 2 Posts

5m (5060mm) All Projections (2500mm - 4000mm) 3 Posts

6m (6060mm) All Projections (2500mm - 4000mm) 3 Posts

7m (7060mm) All Projections (2500mm - 4000mm) 3 Posts

Installation & Drainage

  • Roof Pitch: Designed for a fixed slope of 157mm per metre (approx. 9 degrees). The wall plate height and front passage height are directly linked by this fixed angle.
  • Rainwater System: Integrated internal drainage is standard. Water flows from the gutter down through the support posts.
    • Supplied with components for low-level discharge (out of the post bottom).
    • Drilling required on-site to position the outlet hole to suit your ground levels.

Coupled Systems

For installations wider than standard single units, verandas can be coupled together seamlessly. A support post is always required directly beneath the coupling point where two gutters join. (Note: Rainwater drainage cannot be routed through a coupling post).

The Deponti Giallo Glass Veranda is a heavy-duty structural system. Due to the significant weight of the glass and the reinforced steel components, this installation requires a minimum of two (ideally three) people for safe lifting.

Key Installation Steps (Specific to Glass Model)

The Giallo Glass assembly differs from standard polycarbonate verandas in three critical ways:

  1. Step 1: Gutter Reinforcement (CRITICAL):
    • Before lifting the gutter profile, you MUST slide the provided 20x100mm Solid Steel Strip inside the hollow chamber of the aluminium gutter.
    • Warning: Failure to install this steel reinforcement will compromise the structural integrity of the roof and its ability to hold the glass safely.
  2. Step 2: Two-Part Posts:
    • The robust 115mm x 150mm posts come in two parts: a structural U-Profile and a cosmetic Click-on Front Cover.
    • Install the U-profiles first to support the gutter. Only fit the front cover strips after you have connected your rainwater pipes inside the post.
  3. Step 3: Glass Installation:
    • If you have sourced your own glass, ensure you use 8.8mm (44.2) Laminated Safety Glass.
    • Glass panels should be lifted carefully into place using proper suction lifters.
    • Ensure the rubber seals are fully seated before laying the glass to prevent leaks.

Standard Dimensions Table

The table below shows the Maximum Factory Dimensions (based on standard 2500mm post clearance). Use this to check your site heights before cutting.

Projection Model Beam Length (D) Wall to Inside of Post (H2) Factory Front Height (H1) Factory Wall Height
2500mm 2470mm 2440mm 2500mm 2880mm
3000mm 2970mm 2930mm 2500mm 2960mm
3500mm 3470mm 3430mm 2500mm 3040mm
4000mm 3970mm 3920mm 2500mm 3110mm

Adjustability & Pitch

  • Roof Pitch: The system is designed for a fixed slope of 157mm per metre. You cannot alter this angle.
  • Height Adjustment: The front posts can be cut down to lower the front clearance.
Important: If you lower the front height by 300mm, you MUST lower the wall plate height (H1) by exactly 300mm to maintain the correct roof pitch.

Ground Fixings

The Giallo Glass requires substantial anchoring to handle the roof load:

  • Concrete Bases: We highly recommend sinking the structural U-profiles into concrete footings (or using our pre-cast concrete pads).
  • Drainage: Rainwater pipes run inside the U-profile. Ensure your concrete base has a drainage outlet or soakaway connection ready before pouring.

The Deponti Giallo Glass Veranda is a premium architectural system. Engineered with a steel-reinforced core to carry the substantial load of a glass roof, it is backed by a comprehensive manufacturer's guarantee to ensure your investment remains secure, safe, and beautiful for years to come.

5-Year Manufacturer's Warranty (Framework)

The aluminium framework is covered by a comprehensive 5-Year Manufacturer's Warranty which includes:

  • Structural Integrity: Guarantee against deformation, warping, or structural failure of the aluminium profiles—including the critical internal steel reinforcement strip—under normal loading conditions.
  • Powder Coating Finish: Guarantee regarding colour fastness and adhesion of the paintwork (protection against blistering, peeling, or significant fading).

Glass Warranty (If Supplied by Us)

If you purchase our complete "Glass Pack", the glass units are manufactured to strict safety standards (EN 12150 / EN 14449).

  • Scope: The warranty covers manufacturing defects in the glass (e.g., delamination of the safety interlayer) visible at the time of delivery.
  • Breakage: Please note that glass breakage is not covered under warranty once delivered and signed for. We strongly recommend adding the veranda to your home insurance policy immediately upon installation to cover accidental damage.

Conditions & Exclusions

To ensure your warranty remains valid, please observe the following conditions:

  • Installation: The guarantee is conditional upon correct assembly according to the official Deponti Giallo manual.
Crucial: Failure to install the supplied steel gutter reinforcement strip will void the structural warranty immediately.
  • Weather Events: Damage caused by extreme weather conditions (e.g., storms, lightning, or abnormal snow loads exceeding the specified engineering limits) is not covered.
  • Maintenance: Regular cleaning of the gutters and profiles is required. Damage caused by neglect (e.g., blocked drains causing overflow) is not covered.

For full terms and conditions, or to initiate a claim, please contact our customer service team with your original proof of purchase.

Accurate measuring is essential for a successful installation. The Deponti Giallo uses a fixed triangular geometry: the projection length and the roof pitch determine your required wall height.

1. Optimum Installation Height & Future Proofing

Important UK Installation Advice:
Although the system is supplied with posts capable of a 2500mm clearance (H2), we usually recommend installing with a clearance height (floor to underside of gutter) of between 2100mm and 2200mm.

There are two key reasons for this recommendation:

  • Glass Room Ready: The Giallo Glass system is designed to accept sliding glass doors. Standard glass door systems typically operate between 2100mm and 2200mm high. Installing at the full 2500mm factory height will leave a large, expensive gap to fill above your doors later.
  • Visual Balance: A height of 2100mm–2200mm aligns with standard internal door heights, creating a seamless visual flow from your home to the garden.

2. The "Golden Rule" of Roof Pitch

The manual strictly specifies a slope of 157mm for every 1 metre of projection to ensure watertightness and stability.

Crucial: Because the heavy-duty beams are rigid, you cannot change this angle. If you cut the front posts to the recommended 2100mm-2200mm height, you MUST lower the wall plate by the exact same amount.

3. Standard Dimensions Table

The table below shows the Maximum Factory Dimensions (based on a standard 2500mm clearance). Use this as your starting point for calculations.

Projection Model Beam Length (D) Wall to Inside of Post (H2) Factory Front Height (H1) Factory Wall Height
2500mm 2470mm 2440mm 2500mm 2880mm
3000mm 2970mm 2930mm 2500mm 2960mm
3500mm 3470mm 3430mm 2500mm 3040mm
4000mm 3970mm 3920mm 2500mm 3110mm

4. Calculation Example

How to calculate for a "Glass Room Ready" height of 2150mm:

  1. Decide your desired front height (e.g., 2150mm).
  2. Calculate the difference from the factory H2 height (2500mm - 2150mm = 350mm difference).
  3. Subtract this 350mm difference from the Factory Wall Height (H1) in the table above.
Example (3m Projection):
Factory Wall Height: 2960mm
Adjustment: -350mm
New Wall Fixing Height: 2610mm (to the underside of the profile).

5. Checking for Obstructions

Before finalising your height, check the wall for:

  • Outward Opening Doors: Ensure bi-fold or French doors can still open fully under the chosen roof height.
  • Wall Obstacles: Check for soil pipes, gas flues, or security lights that might clash with the wall plate position.
