Cover medium to large outdoor areas with our Bosco polycarbonate aluminium veranda. This is a very popular model and benefits from 9 standard width sizes and 5 standard projection sizes.
Maximum size for one unit is 7m wide and 6m projection (2 gutter profiles jointed above 7m wide). Maximum distance between support posts is 4m and the posts can be inset for a cantilever style if required as well as unevenly spaced when there are 3 or more, as long as there is no more than 4m between any 2 posts.
The Bosco can have most of the optional extras fitted to the side and front to create an outdoor room if required, including sliding glass and folding glass doors. Lighting can also be incorporated and as with any outdoor living product to provide weather protection a massive array of infra red heaters are available to further enhance and make more comfort on the cooler days and evenings.

Deponti Bosco Aluminium Veranda System

Widely recognised as the UK's most popular mid-range veranda, the Deponti Bosco strikes the perfect balance between premium aesthetics, structural strength, and affordability. While it serves as a robust step up from entry-level models, it offers a level of finish and customisation typically associated with high-end glass systems.

Engineered for versatility, the Bosco is designed to handle larger spans and deeper projections, making it the ultimate solution for homeowners wanting to maximise their outdoor living space without compromising on style.

Customisable Aesthetics

Unlike standard budget models, the Bosco allows you to tailor the look of the veranda to suit the architecture of your property. You have the choice of two distinct styles for the front appearance:

  • Round Profile: A smooth, semi-circular gutter profile paired with half-round upright posts for a softer, contemporary look.
  • Classic Profile: A Victorian-style moulded gutter profile paired with square upright posts, ideal for traditional homes or adding a touch of elegance.

Both options are available in 4 standard colours to match your property:

  • Traffic White (RAL 9016)
  • Cream White (RAL 9001)
  • Graphite Grey (RAL 7024)
  • Jet Black (RAL 9005)

Unrivalled Size & Engineering

The structural integrity of the Bosco is where it truly shines, allowing for impressive spans with minimal vertical supports to keep your view unobstructed.

  • Post Configuration: The system is incredibly strong, requiring only 2 front posts for widths up to 4000mm. For wider spans between 4001mm and 8000mm, only 3 front posts are needed.
  • Available Widths: You can order standard sizes up to 7000mm directly through our website. For larger projects, the Bosco is available in single runs up to a massive 12,000mm (12m)—please contact us for a "Price on Application" quote for these larger sizes.
  • Projections: Ranging from 2.5 metres up to an impressive 6 metres deep.
  • Roofing: Supplied as standard with 16mm multi-wall polycarbonate (Clear or Opal). Note: The reinforced gutter profile of the Bosco is so strong that this system can also be upgraded to safety glass if desired.

Commercial Applications

The Bosco is not just a domestic favourite; it is a proven asset for the hospitality and leisure sectors. For pubs, restaurants, hotels, and cafes, the Bosco transforms weather-dependent outdoor areas into year-round revenue generators.

  • Increase Capacity: By covering large terraces with projections up to 6 metres, you can guarantee dry seating for dozens of additional covers, regardless of the British weather.
  • Modular Expansion: For wide commercial frontages, multiple Bosco units can be linked seamlessly to cover expansive beer gardens or dining decks.
  • Professional Impression: The hidden rainwater drainage and sleek aluminium finish provide a clean, high-end look that enhances your business premises, far superior to temporary parasols or gazebos.

Whether you are creating a sheltered patio for family dining or a robust smoking shelter and dining area for commercial patrons, the Deponti Bosco offers the perfect combination of durability, size, and style.

System Overview: The Deponti Bosco is a premium aluminium veranda system supplied as a complete kit, including all necessary structural profiles, polycarbonate roofing, cover strips, and assembly hardware.

Customisation Options

Tailor the Bosco to your specific aesthetic requirements with our choice of profile styles:

  • Design Styles: Choose between Round (smooth semi-circular gutter with half-round posts) or Classic (Victorian-style moulded gutter with square posts).
  • Standard Colours: Traffic White (RAL 9016), Cream White (RAL 9001), Graphite Grey (RAL 7024), or Jet Black (RAL 9005).

Dimensions & Sizing Definitions

Please pay close attention to the width definitions to ensure a correct fit. The system uses "Centre-to-Centre" measurements for the roof beams, resulting in an "Overall Width" that is slightly wider than the nominal size.

  • Overall Width Calculation: The total width is the beam spacing + 60mm (30mm overhang from centre-line to outside edge on both sides).
  • Example: A "5-metre" model has 5 x 1000mm beam sections + 60mm = 5060mm Overall Width.

Standard Widths Available Online:

  • 4m Model: 4060mm Overall Width
  • 5m Model: 5060mm Overall Width
  • 6m Model: 6060mm Overall Width
  • 7m Model: 7060mm Overall Width
  • (Widths up to 12060mm available upon request)

Structural Engineering

The reinforced gutter profile allows for impressive spans with fewer vertical supports than comparable systems.

Front Post Requirements:

  • Widths up to 4060mm: 2 Front Posts
  • Widths 4061mm to 8060mm: 3 Front Posts
  • Widths 8061mm to 12060mm: 4 Front Posts

Projections: Available in depths of 2500mm, 3000mm, 3500mm, 4000mm, and 6000mm.
Note: Projection dimensions are measured from the back of the wall plate to the inside face of the front posts. Due to the roof pitch, the actual footprint may vary slightly from the nominal dimension.

Installation & Drainage

  • Roof Pitch: Designed for a fixed slope of 157mm per metre (approx. 8 degrees) to ensure efficient drainage. The wall plate height and front passage height are directly linked by this fixed angle.
  • Rainwater System: Integrated internal drainage is standard. Water flows from the gutter down through the support posts.
    • Supplied with components for low-level discharge (out of the post bottom).
    • Drilling required on-site to position the outlet hole to suit your ground levels.
    • Compatible with standard 50/60mm adaptors for connecting to underground soakaways (leaf catchers and adaptors available separately).

Coupled Systems

For installations wider than standard single units, verandas can be coupled together seamlessly.

  • A support post is always required directly beneath the coupling point where two gutters join.
  • Important: Rainwater drainage cannot be routed through a post that supports a gutter coupling joint.

The Deponti Bosco is engineered for a logical, step-by-step assembly. While it is a substantial structure capable of large spans, the modular design makes it achievable for competent installers. We recommend a two-person team for safe lifting and positioning.

Key Installation Steps (Verified)

The assembly process follows a specific sequence to ensure structural integrity:

  1. Wall Profile: Install this first, ensuring it is perfectly level. (Fixings every 50cm recommended).
  2. Frame Assembly: Position the support posts and lift the heavy-duty gutter profile into place.
Pro Tip: Secure the gutter to the posts initially with just ONE screw through the lower lip. This allows you to adjust the alignment before adding the final structural fixings from the top down into the posts.
  3. Squaring the Roof: Install the two End Beams first. This rigidises the frame and ensures it is perfectly square before you add the middle beams.
  4. Middle Beams: Once square, install the remaining beams at their fixed 1000mm centres.
  5. Roofing:
    • Ensure the UV-Protective side faces UP (marked on the film).
    • Fit the condensation profiles to the sheet ends before installation.
    • Click the aluminium cover strips into place (a rubber mallet is useful here) and secure with the provided stainless steel screws.
    • Crucial: Install the provided "Sheet Stoppers" at the bottom of each middle beam to prevent panels from slipping over time.

Standard Dimensions Table

The table below shows the Maximum Factory Dimensions (based on the standard 2500mm post). Use this to check your site heights before cutting.

Projection Model Beam Length (D) Wall to Inside of Post (H2) Factory Front Height (H1) Factory Wall Height
2500mm 2470mm 2440mm 2500mm 2880mm
3000mm 2970mm 2930mm 2500mm 2960mm
3500mm 3470mm 3430mm 2500mm 3040mm
4000mm 3970mm 3930mm 2500mm 3120mm
6000mm 5970mm 5930mm 2500mm 3435mm

Adjustability & Pitch

  • Roof Pitch: The system is designed for a fixed slope of 157mm per metre. You cannot alter this angle without compromising the water-tightness.
  • Height Adjustment: The front posts (2500mm standard) can be cut down to lower the front clearance.
Important: If you cut the posts by 100mm, you MUST lower the wall plate (H1) by exactly 100mm to maintain the correct roof pitch.

Ground Fixings

The Bosco requires substantial anchoring due to its size and wind loading:

  • Concrete Bases: We highly recommend using concrete pads (or pre-cast bases) for the posts.
  • Drainage: Determine which post will carry the rainwater. This post will need to be connected to your drainage system (soakaway or pipework) via the outlet hole you drill near the bottom.

To ensure your warranty remains valid, please observe the following conditions:

  • Installation: The guarantee is conditional upon correct assembly according to the official Deponti Bosco manual (available in the Downloads section).
  • Weather Events: Damage caused by extreme weather conditions (e.g., storms, lightning, or abnormal snow loads exceeding the specified engineering limits) is not covered.
  • Maintenance: Regular cleaning of the gutters and profiles is required. Damage caused by neglect (e.g., blocked drains causing overflow) is not covered.
  • External Factors: Accidental damage, scratches, or impact damage occurring after delivery.

For full terms and conditions, or to initiate a claim, please contact our customer service team with your original proof of purchase.

Accurate measuring is essential for a successful installation. The Deponti Bosco uses a fixed triangular geometry: the projection length and the roof pitch determine your required wall height.

1. Optimum Installation Height & Future Proofing

Important UK Installation Advice:
Although the system is supplied with 2500mm posts (or 3000mm for concreting in), we recommend installing with a clearance height (floor to underside of gutter) of between 2100mm and 2200mm for most standard applications in a domestic environment

There are two key reasons for reducing the height from the factory maximum:

  • Future Enclosures (Glass Rooms): If you decide to add glass sliding doors or side panels later, standard systems typically operate between 2100mm and 2200mm. Installing at the full 2500mm height would leave a large gap above the doors, requiring expensive additional fixed glass wedges to fill the space.
  • Aesthetics: A height of 2100mm–2200mm aligns with standard internal doorway heights (approx. 2m), creating a seamless flow from house to garden rather than a "looming" high canopy.

2. The "Golden Rule" of Roof Pitch

The manual strictly specifies a slope of 157mm for every 1 metre of projection to ensure watertightness and stability.

Crucial: Because the roof sheets and beams are rigid, you cannot change this angle. If you cut the front posts to the recommended 2100mm-2200mm height, you MUST lower the wall plate by the exact same amount.

3. Standard Dimensions Table

The table below shows the Maximum Factory Dimensions (based on the standard 2500mm post). Use this as your starting point for calculations.

Projection Model Beam Length (D) Wall to Inside of Post (H2) Factory Front Height (H1) Factory Wall Height
2500mm 2470mm 2440mm 2500mm 2880mm
3000mm 2970mm 2930mm 2500mm 2960mm
3500mm 3470mm 3430mm 2500mm 3040mm
4000mm 3970mm 3930mm 2500mm 3120mm
6000mm 5970mm 5930mm 2500mm 3435mm

4. Calculation Example

How to calculate for a "Future Proof" height of 2200mm:

  1. Decide your desired front height (e.g., 2200mm).
  2. Calculate the difference from the factory H2 height (2500mm - 2200mm = 300mm difference).
  3. Subtract this 300mm difference from the Factory Wall Height (H1) in the table above.
Example (3m Projection):
Factory Wall Height: 2960mm
Adjustment: -300mm
New Wall Fixing Height: 2660mm (to the underside of the profile).

5. Checking for Obstructions

Before finalising your height, check the wall for:

  • Outward Opening Doors: Ensure bi-fold or French doors can still open fully under the chosen roof height.
  • Wall Obstacles: Check for soil pipes, gas flues, or security lights that might clash with the wall plate position.
