Deponti Pinela Glass Veranda: The Cubic Masterpiece

Make a bold architectural statement with the Deponti Pinela Glass. This wall-mounted veranda is the ultimate expression of modern minimalism, featuring a striking cubic frame that perfectly complements contemporary homes. Unlike traditional pitched roofs, the Pinela maintains a completely level, rectangular silhouette, hiding the roof pitch cleverly within its deep-profile beams.

Designed for those who crave openness, the Pinela Glass is engineered to support exceptionally wide glass panels. This means fewer rafters and less visual clutter, giving you the most transparent, unobstructed view of the sky possible while offering 100% weather protection.

Unrivalled Clarity & Span

The Pinela Glass is built on a heavy-duty platform that pushes the boundaries of outdoor engineering. Capable of spanning up to 7 metres between just two support posts, it eliminates the need for a central leg, keeping your patio completely barrier-free. This makes it the ideal companion for wide bi-fold or sliding doors, ensuring your view from the inside out remains perfectly framed.

Complete Glass & Light Package

We believe in transparency in every sense. That is why our online price for the Pinela Glass is all-inclusive:

  • Safety Glass Included: We supply premium 10mm Toughened Safety Glass (or 44.2 Laminated depending on span) as standard with your order, ensuring you have a complete, ready-to-install kit.
  • Integrated Perimeter Lighting: Extend your evenings with the Pinela's signature lighting system. LED strips are seamlessly built into the entire perimeter of the roof frame—not just the gutter—casting a uniform, warm glow around your entire space.
  • Smart Control: Manage your lighting effortless with the included Somfy IO receiver and remote handset. This system is fully compatible with Somfy Smart Home apps (Tahoma Switch required), putting control at your fingertips.

The Flat Roof Advantage

The Pinela Glass solves the common problem of low installation heights. By keeping the external frame perfectly flat and level, it fits neatly beneath first-floor windows or low soffits where a pitched roof would not. Inside the frame, a concealed gradient ensures rainwater drains invisibly away through the internal post system, combining practical drainage with flawless aesthetics.

System Overview: The Deponti Pinela Glass (Wall Mounted) is a premium cubic veranda system featuring a flat external profile, integrated perimeter LED lighting, and extra-wide glass panels. It is engineered for maximum transparency and modern aesthetics.

  • 3000mm
  • 3500mm
  • 4000mm
  • 4500mm

Drainage & Installation

  • Hidden Drainage: Rainwater runs internally through the beams to the front gutter, then down inside the support posts.
  • Outlet: Drill holes required on-site in the posts to suit your specific drainage exit point (e.g., to a soakaway). Leaf catchers and outlets are included.
  • Mounting: Posts can be concreted directly into the ground (recommended for stability) or bolted to a prepared concrete base using optional Foot Plates.

The Deponti Pinela Glass Veranda is a precision "Cubic" system. Unlike standard verandas, the external frame is designed to be installed perfectly level. The required roof slope (28mm/m) is ingeniously engineered inside the roof beams, meaning you don't need to calculate pitch angles—just level the frame.

1. Standard Dimension Table

The Pinela uses extra-wide glass panels for maximum visibility. Check your required width against the modular sizes below. (All dimensions in mm).

Ordering Width No. of Glass Panels Beam Spacing (Centre-to-Centre) Glass Panel Size
3124mm 3 964mm 840mm wide
4088mm 4 964mm 840mm wide
5052mm 5 964mm 840mm wide
6016mm 6 964mm 840mm wide
6980mm 7 964mm 840mm wide

2. Height & Levelling (The "Zero Pitch" Rule)

Installation is simpler than pitched roofs because the frame is rectangular:

  • Level Frame: You must install the wall profile (rear gutter) and front gutter at the exact same height. Use a spirit level to ensure the entire perimeter frame is perfectly horizontal.
  • Max Height: The standard maximum height is 2800mm (Ground to Top of Frame).
  • Clearance: Because the roof beams sit inside the frame, ensure you have clearance for outward-opening doors. The underside of the beam is approximately 145mm lower than the top of the frame.

3. Ground Fixing Options

The Pinela's massive spans require a solid foundation.

Option A: Concrete Foundation (Standard)
The 150x150mm posts are supplied at 3650mm long. The standard method is to dig a foundation hole (min 500mm deep), insert the post, level the frame, and backfill with concrete. This offers the cleanest "floating" look with no visible footplates.

Option B: Surface Mounting (Optional)
If installing onto an existing reinforced concrete slab, you can use the optional Floor Mounting Base.

  • You will need to cut the posts to size on-site.
  • Fixing requires heavy-duty chemical anchors (e.g., M12 Hilti HY-200) with a 170mm bonding depth. Do not bolt to thin paving slabs.

4. Rainwater Drainage

The Pinela features a high-capacity internal drainage system.

  • Post Drainage: Water flows from the front gutter down inside the post. You must drill an 80mm hole (larger than standard systems) in the top of the post during assembly.
  • Outlet: Drill a matching 80mm hole at the bottom of the post for the water to exit (either into a drain or soakaway).
  • Leaf Catcher: An 80mm leaf catcher is supplied to sit inside the gutter outlet.

5. Electrical Installation

The integrated lighting system is designed to be plug-and-play but requires planning:

  • Driver Location: The LED driver and Somfy receiver are designed to be mounted inside the front gutter profile (unlike wall-mounted drivers on other models).
  • Cabling: Pre-drilled cable routes allow wires to pass invisibly through the corner joints. Ensure you test all LED strips before clipping the final cover profiles in place.

The Deponti Pinela Glass Veranda is a premium outdoor system engineered for longevity. To ensure your investment remains in perfect condition and your warranty valid, please follow the guidelines below.

Manufacturer's Warranty

Your Pinela Glass veranda is covered by Deponti's standard warranty terms:

  • Aluminium Structure: 5-Year Warranty on the structural integrity of the profiles.
  • Powder Coating: 5-Year Warranty on the paint finish (blistering or peeling).
*Exception: Coastal areas (within 1km of the sea) or high-chemical environments (e.g., swimming pools) carry a 2-Year finish warranty.
  • Electrical Components: 2-Year Warranty on LED lighting strips, transformers (drivers), and Somfy receivers/handsets.
  • Glass: The supplied 8.8mm or 10mm safety glass is not covered against breakage (thermal shock or impact) once delivered and accepted.

Warranty Conditions

To maintain your coverage:

  • Installation: The system must be installed in strict accordance with the Pinela Glass Assembly Manual. Structural modifications (e.g., cutting main beams incorrectly) will void the warranty.
  • Fixings: Use only the supplied stainless steel assembly screws and original electrical parts.
  • Anchoring: The veranda must be securely anchored to a suitable foundation. Damage caused by wind uplift due to poor ground fixing is not a manufacturing defect.

Maintenance Guide

Keep your Pinela looking new with this simple routine:

  • Cleaning (Bi-Annual): Wash the aluminium frame twice a year with lukewarm water and a pH-neutral cleaner. Use a soft sponge or cloth.
Warning: Never use pressure washers, scouring pads, or acidic/alkaline cleaners.
  • Drainage Clearance: The Pinela has internal drainage inside the posts. Twice a year (especially after Autumn), remove the 80mm leaf catcher from the gutter outlet and clear any debris to prevent blockages.
  • Glass Care: Clean the glass roof panels with standard glass cleaner. Avoid standing directly on the glass panels during maintenance; use a crawl board if necessary.

Measuring for the Pinela Glass is precise but straightforward. Because this is a "cubic" system designed to be installed perfectly level, you don't need to calculate roof pitch angles—the slope is already engineered inside the frame beams.

1. Measuring the Width (Along the Wall)

The Pinela comes in specific modular widths to accommodate the extra-wide glass panels. You must choose the size that fits your space.

  • Select Your Size: Check your available wall space against the standard widths: 3124mm, 4088mm, 5052mm, 6016mm, or 6980mm.
  • No Side Overhang: The width shown is the total external frame width. Ideally, you want the posts to sit fully on your patio, so ensure your ground surface accommodates the full width.
  • Obstructions: Check the wall area for drainpipes, outdoor lights, or flues that might clash with the wall profile or side beams.

2. Measuring the Projection (Depth)

The projection is the total depth from the wall to the front face of the front gutter.

  • Standard Depths: 3000mm, 3500mm, 4000mm, 4500mm.
  • Post Position: The front posts are positioned flush with the front of the frame. Ensure your foundation or patio extends far enough to support them securely.

3. Determining the Height (The "Level" Rule)

This is the most critical part. Unlike sloping roofs, the Pinela frame is rectangular and must be installed level.

  • Step 1: Choose Your Frame Height
The maximum standard height is 2800mm (Ground to Top of Frame). You can cut the posts shorter on-site if required (e.g., to 2500mm).
  • Step 2: Check Wall & Door Clearance
Because the roof beams sit inside the frame (not on top), they reduce the internal headroom.
Critical Check: The underside of the roof beam is approximately 145mm lower than the top of the frame.
Example: If your Frame Height is 2500mm, your clear walkthrough height under the beam is approx. 2355mm.
  • Step 3: Bi-Fold / Outward Opening Doors
If you have doors that open outwards, ensure the top of the door leaf will pass comfortably under the internal beams. Measure the door height and add at least 155mm to find your minimum required Frame Height.

4. Glass Panel & Beam Layout

Use this table to understand where the support beams will fall relative to your doors or windows. The Pinela uses wide glass panels (approx 964mm centres) for a less cluttered view.

System Width Number of Glass Panels Beam Spacing (Centre-to-Centre)
3124mm 3 Panels 964mm
4088mm 4 Panels 964mm
5052mm 5 Panels 964mm
6016mm 6 Panels 964mm
6980mm 7 Panels 964mm

5. Final Checklist

  • Foundation: Is your ground solid? The posts carry significant weight. If installing on paving, ensure there is concrete beneath.
  • Drainage Point: Decide where the rainwater will exit. You will need to drill an outlet hole at the bottom of one post to feed into a drain or soakaway.
  • Electrical Feed: Plan where the power cable will enter the frame (usually through the wall profile) for the integrated LED lighting.
