"Engineered with a reinforced steel-core gutter, the Giallo Plus delivers a massive 7-metre clear span on just two posts, giving you the ultimate uninterrupted view of your garden."

Deponti Giallo Plus: The Ultimate Panoramic Veranda

The Deponti Giallo Plus is the pinnacle of veranda engineering, designed specifically for those who refuse to compromise on their view. While standard systems require a support post every 3 to 4 meters, the Giallo Plus rewrites the rules. Thanks to a specially reinforced, heavy-duty gutter profile, this system can span a massive 6 metres between just two front posts with a glass roof, delivering a truly uninterrupted panoramic experience.

Whether you are framing a sweeping landscape, overlooking a pool, or simply want to eliminate visual clutter, the Giallo Plus provides the structural strength needed to keep your sightlines completely clear.

Unrivalled "Two-Post" Architecture

The defining feature of the Giallo Plus is its ability to support substantial roof loads with minimal ground support. By integrating a robust steel reinforcement chamber within the gutter profile, Deponti has created a system that bridges huge distances without sagging or requiring a central leg.

  • Maximum Span: Achieve a clear opening of up to 6 metres between posts with a glass roof (or up to 7m with polycarbonate).
  • The "Plus" Difference: Visually identical to the standard Giallo in style, but internally fortified to handle wider spans and heavier snow loads.
  • Cleaner Aesthetics: Fewer posts mean a sleeker, more modern look that blends seamlessly with wide bi-fold or sliding doors.

Commercial & Residential Versatility

While homeowners love the Giallo Plus for its cinematic views, it is also a favourite for commercial applications.

  • For Homes: Perfect for bridging wide patio doors where a central post would otherwise obstruct the walkthrough or ruin the view from the living room.
  • For Hospitality: An ideal solution for restaurant terraces and cafes. The absence of a central post creates a barrier-free space, allowing for flexible table layouts and unobstructed customer flow.

Standard Configurations

The Giallo Plus is available in specific wide-format sizes designed to maximize this spanning capability:

  • Standard Widths: 5000mm, 6000mm, and 7000mm.
  • Available Projections: 2500mm, 3000mm, 3500mm, and 4000mm.
  • Roofing: Supplied with 8.8mm Laminated Safety Glass for the ultimate premium finish and acoustic performance during rain.

System Overview: The Deponti Giallo Plus is a heavy-duty aluminium veranda system engineered for extra-wide spans. It features an reinforced steel chamber within the gutter profile, allowing for up to 6 metres between posts with a glass roof. (Note: Wall and floor fixings are not included as these depend on your specific substrate).

Glass Supply Options

We offer flexible purchasing options to suit your project needs:

  • Option 1 (Complete Kit): Order the full system including the 8.8mm laminated safety glass for a single, hassle-free delivery.
  • Option 2 (Frame Only): Purchase the aluminium structure only and source the glass from a local glazier. This can often save on delivery costs and allows you to choose specialist tints (e.g., bronze or grey anti-sun). We will provide the exact manufacturing sizes upon order.

Key Dimensions & Profiles

  • Gutter Profile: Reinforced "Plus" profile with internal steel strengthening.
  • Support Posts: Extra-large 150mm x 150mm square posts to handle the increased load and span.
(Supplied at 3000mm length for concreting in, or with optional Base Plates for bolting down).
  • Max Clear Span: Uniquely capable of a 6000mm clear span between just two posts with a glass roof.

Ordering Widths Explained

The system uses specific beam spacing, resulting in an "Overall Width" slightly larger than the nominal size.

  • Overall Width Calculation: The total width is the nominal size + 60mm (30mm overhang from centre-line to outside edge on both sides).
  • Example: A "6-metre" model has a nominal width of 6000mm + 60mm = 6060mm Overall Width.

Post Requirements

Thanks to the "Plus" reinforcement, the post requirements are significantly reduced compared to standard models.

Ordering Width (Overall) Post Dimensions Number of Posts Required
5m (5060mm) 150mm x 150mm 2 Posts
6m (6060mm) 150mm x 150mm 2 Posts
7m (7060mm) 150mm x 150mm 2 Posts*
(*Check specific load tables for 7m glass spans)

Installation & Drainage

  • Roof Pitch: Designed for a fixed slope of 157mm per metre (approx. 9 degrees). The wall plate height and front passage height are linked by this fixed angle.
  • Rainwater System: Integrated internal drainage is standard. Water flows from the gutter down through the 150mm support posts.
    • Supplied with leaf catchers and discharge outlets.
    • We recommend utilising both posts for drainage in UK weather conditions to handle flash storms effectively.

Coupled Systems

For installations wider than 7 metres, multiple sections can be joined end-to-end. A support post is always required directly beneath the coupling point where two gutters meet. (Note: Rainwater cannot be drained through a coupling post).

The Deponti Giallo Plus is a modular system designed for flexibility. While it comes with standard components, the final installation height can be tailored to suit your specific site conditions. Use this guide to plan your installation effectively.

1. Standard Dimension Table

Use these reference dimensions to mark out your post positions and check your wall fixings before starting. (All dimensions in mm).

Roof Projection Beam Length Post Position
(Wall to inside face of post)
Passage Height
(Standard setup)
Wall Plate Height
(Standard setup)
2500mm 2470 2443 2500 3053
3000mm 2970 2937 2500 3131
3500mm 3470 3431 2500 3209
4000mm 3970 3924 2500 3287

2. Adjusting Heights (The "Fixed Pitch" Rule)

The Giallo Plus has a fixed roof pitch of 157mm per metre (approx. 9 degrees). This means the height of the wall plate and the front gutter are structurally linked—you cannot adjust one without adjusting the other.

How to Lower the Passage Height:

  • The Golden Rule: Any reduction in the front passage height must be matched by an equal reduction in the wall plate height to maintain the correct roof angle.
  • Method: Simply shorten the 3000mm aluminium posts by cutting them square at the bottom, or sink them deeper into your concrete foundations.

Calculation Example

Scenario: You have a 3000mm projection roof but require a lower walkthrough height of 2200mm (Standard is approx. 2500mm).

  • Step 1 (Calculate Difference): 2500mm (Standard) - 2200mm (Desired) = 300mm Difference.
  • Step 2 (Modify Posts): Cut 300mm off the bottom of your support posts (or set them 300mm deeper into the concrete).
  • Step 3 (Adjust Wall Plate): Lower your wall plate position by the same 300mm amount.
    (Standard Wall Height 3131mm - 300mm = 2831mm New Wall Plate Height).

3. Ground Fixing Options

The Giallo Plus supports huge spans on just two posts, so a solid foundation is critical. You have two main installation methods:

Option A: Concreting In (Recommended for Soft Ground)
Use the full 3000mm post length. Dig a foundation hole approx. 500-700mm deep, place the post inside, level it, and backfill with post-mix concrete. This provides excellent lateral stability.

Option B: Surface Mounting (For Existing Patios)
If you have a pre-existing solid concrete base or reinforced patio, you can cut the posts to size and use our Floor Mounting Bases (available separately). These bolt directly to the floor surface.
*Note: Paving slabs alone are rarely sufficient; there must be concrete beneath them.

4. Pre-Cast Foundation Blocks

For a professional finish on soft ground, we offer Pre-Cast Concrete Foundation Blocks.

  • Easy Install: These blocks are buried flush with the ground, providing a pre-levelled, threaded anchor point for your posts.
  • Integrated Drainage: Available with a built-in drainage outlet, allowing you to connect the internal post drain directly to an underground soakaway or pipe without drilling visible holes.

The Deponti Giallo Plus is a heavy-duty system built to last. To keep your veranda looking pristine and to ensure your warranty remains valid, please follow the guidelines below.

Manufacturer's Warranty

Your purchase is protected by the Deponti manufacturer’s warranty, covering material defects and finish quality:

  • Aluminium Structure: 5-Year Warranty on the structural integrity of the profiles.
  • Powder Coating: 5-Year Warranty against peeling, cracking, or blistering of the paint finish.
*Exception: For installations in coastal areas or locations with high salt/chemical exposure (e.g., swimming pools), the finish warranty is limited to 2 Years.
  • Components: 2-Year Warranty on moving parts, rubber seals, and mechanical fixings.

Warranty Conditions

To ensure your warranty remains valid:

  • Installation: The veranda must be assembled strictly in accordance with the official Deponti Assembly Manual.
  • Modifications: Do not drill or cut structural profiles (other than specified in the manual) as this may compromise the load-bearing capacity and void the warranty.
  • Original Parts: Use only the supplied stainless steel fixings and original accessories.

Maintenance Guide

Regular maintenance is simple but essential for longevity:

  • Cleaning (Twice Yearly): Wash down the aluminium frame with lukewarm water and a neutral cleaning agent using a soft sponge or cloth.
Important: Never use abrasive pads, aggressive solvents, or high-pressure power washers, as these can damage the powder coating and rubber seals.
  • Gutter Clearance: Check the gutter and leaf catchers at least twice a year (especially in Autumn) to prevent blockages and ensure rainwater flows freely down the support posts.
  • Structural Check: Annually inspect all visible screws and bolts to ensuring they remain tight and secure.

How to Measure for Your Giallo Plus

Measuring for your new veranda is straightforward, but accuracy is key. The Giallo Plus is a modular system, meaning it comes in set sizes that can be cut down on-site if necessary. Use this guide to ensure you order the correct kit for your space.

1. Measuring the Width (Along the House Wall)

The "Ordering Width" refers to the standard model size, but the actual physical width of the roof is slightly wider due to the side overhangs.

  • Check Your Space: Ensure you have clear wall space free of downpipes, boiler flues, or gas outlets.
  • Total Width Rule: The total roof width is the Model Width + 60mm.
(e.g., A "6m" model is actually 6060mm wide. This includes a 30mm overhang on each side).
  • Custom Fits: If the standard sizes (5060mm, 6060mm, 7060mm) don't fit your space perfectly, order the next size up. The aluminium profiles can be cut down to an exact width during installation.

2. Measuring the Projection (Depth from Wall)

The "Projection" is the depth of the roof glazing, not the distance to the posts. The support posts sit slightly back from the front edge of the glass.

  • Post Position: The posts are set back from the front of the gutter. Use the table below to see exactly where the inside face of your posts will land on your patio.
  • Foundation Check: Ensure your current patio or foundation extends out far enough to bolt the posts down securely.
Ordered Projection Distance from Wall to Inside of Post
2.5m 2443mm
3.0m 2937mm
3.5m 3431mm
4.0m 3924mm

3. Checking the Heights (The "Fixed Pitch" Rule)

Unlike some systems, the Giallo Plus has a fixed roof pitch of approx. 9 degrees (a drop of 157mm for every metre of projection). This means the wall height and front walkthrough height are linked.

  • Wall Clearance: Check that the "Wall Plate Height" (see technical specs) fits under any first-floor windows or eaves.
  • Headroom: The standard walkthrough height under the front gutter is 2500mm.
  • Obstructions: Open any French doors or bi-folds that will be under the veranda. Measure the height of the door leaf when open to ensure it won't hit the underside of the roof beams.

4. Final Checklist

  • Obstructions: Are there any garden gates, fences, or trees that might interfere with the posts or roof overhang?
  • Floor Level: Is your patio level? If the ground slopes away from the house, you may need to adjust your post heights during installation to keep the roof level.
  • Future Plans: If you plan to add glass sliding doors later, ensure your patio is perfectly level and solid concrete footings are installed beneath where the door tracks will go.
